Border Patrol rescues 29 undocumented immigrants from a trailer

The Border Patrol of the Laredo Sector, Texas, rescued 29 undocumented immigrants who were trying to enter the country illegally aboard a trailer, the US Customs and Border Protection Office reported.

Border Patrol agents responded to a report of suspicious activity rport in the vicinity and found the vehicle that was transporting the immigrants, on January 20, according to a statement.

The 29 individuals, from Mexico and Guatemala, were in good health, despite the precarious conditions in which they traveled inside the truck, which was confiscated by the Border Patrol.

“These criminal organizations see these people as mere products without taking their safety into account. The flagrant disregard for human life will not be tolerated, “said the deputy head of the Laredo Sector of the Border Patrol, Gabriel Acosta.

“We will continue to work with our law enforcement partners to dismantle and dismantle these organizations and bring those responsible to justice,” Acosta added, referring to organized crime that smuggles people across the border between Mexico and the United States.
